In the years before and after the First Intifada, Peace Now led a new course of talks with the Palestinian leadership and became a pioneer in creating a connection with Faisal Husseini. The movement’s main goals were stopping the expansion of settlements and the escalation of violence. Peace Now helped strengthen support in a peace process among the Israeli public and provided the necessary legitimacy to carry out the negotiations with Jordan and the Palestinians later on.
