The Palestinian Village of Maghayer A-Dir is being Deported by Settler Violence

On May 22, 2025, the community of Maghayer Al-Deir, east of Ramallah, began packing their belongings and fleeing their homes and lands. This is a relatively large community—hundreds of people—now being forcibly displaced due to escalating settler violence.

In recent years, violent settlers have surrounded the village, establishing shepherding outposts and seizing vast areas of surrounding land. These actions have blocked residents from accessing their fields and grazing areas, cutting them off from their livelihoods.

A few days ago, settlers erected a new outpost between the village homes. This was the breaking point. Under growing threats and ongoing violence, the community saw no choice but to abandon their homes.

Watch the short video below to see the location and understand how this has unfolded:

The Israeli government supports the settlers and their farms in the area, who openly declare that their goal is to forcibly transfer the Palestinians from the area. Tzvi Succot who is a member of the Knesset from the right wing coalition, was spotted in the village as the people were packing, visiting the settlers of the outpost.
One of the leaders of the settlers who establish those farm outposts, twitted a video of the Palestinians loading their belongings to the truck and wrote:

This is how redemption looks like … This is a relatively large [Palestinian] outpost that housed around 150 individuals from the enemy population, but it too was, thank God, overcome thanks to the campaign led against it by the Jewish settlement points in the area, which restored security and Jewish control to these parts of the homeland that had been taken.

Moving into the Arab building blocs is something that may be good temporarily, but God willing, one day we will send you back to your natural place in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.”
