Today an important verdict was issued by the Local Court of Jerusalem in a libel suitfiled against Peace Now by the settler organisation Elad.
The Elad Organisation sued Peace Now, regarding an article we published on our website referring to construction works they were making in East Jerusalem, demanding compensation of 196,866 NIS.
The Judge Oded Shaham, ruled against Elad and their ridiculous claims, defending the freedom of speech and ruled Elad has to pay a fee of NIS 7,000 to cover the legal expenses of Peace Now.
Peace Now will be using this sum to continue our struggle againstsettlements in the Silwan neighbourhood of East Jerusalem.
