Peace Now believes that only direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians can resolve the ongoing conflict.
The Palestinian Authority’s statehood initiative at the UN this week is a result of failed Israeli diplomatic and foreign policies.
PM Netanyahu could easily change direction, by declaring an immediate freeze on settlements and returning to serious negotiations with a relevant offer to the Palestinians. Instead the Prime Minister is working to placate his extreme right wing Foreign Minister and to throw the ball of blame into the Palestinian court.
It is in Israel’s interest to vote in support of the Palestinian initiative in the UN, and return to negotiations the day after to ensure the end of the conflict.
Peace Now calls upon the Prime Minister to end his failed policies, which has only deepened Israel’s isolation, and instead restart and reinvigorate the long-stalled negotiations for peace.
