Following our Legal Project work – the PM is Forced to commit to remove outposts

Prime Minister Netanyahu is forced to commit to the removal of the outposts on Palestinian private land at Peace Now’s petition by the end of this year.

The government established a new policy according to which the illegal outposts built on private Palestinian landwill be evacuated, while the other outposts will be authorized, Cabinet Secretary Zvi Hauser announced on Monday. If implemented, this decision might lead to the legalization of almost all of the illegal outposts (by removing those parts of them on private land) and actually the approval of them as new settlements.

The cabinet decision was made in response to an ongoing Supreme Court petition submitted by Peace Now, demanding that the government put into effect a demarcation order already issued regarding six contentious outposts: Ramat Gilad, Mitzpe Yitzhar, Givat Har’eh, Givat Asaf,Ma’aleh Rehavam and Mitzpeh Lachish
