The Netanyahu Government Approves Hundreds of Millions for Settlements in Coalition Funds

Yesterday, the government approved 4.995 billion shekels in coalition funds while reducing the state budget by 3 percent, resulting in significant cuts to education, health care, and welfare.

Of this amount, at least 316 million shekels are allocated for settlements, including 50 million for farms and outposts in the West Bank.

Peace Now: The most incompetent government in Israel’s history proves again and again that it represents not Israel but a small minority of settlers.

The ‘concept’ that settlements could continue to exist while Israel maintained stability and security blew up in our faces on Oct. 7.

Yet instead of focusing on the country’s security and future, the government continues to push toward annexation while diverting state resources to serve a messianic vision.
Shamelessly, the government is increasing the funds it directs to terror hubs in outposts and farms — bringing disaster upon us all.

Coalition funds are discretionary funds that coalition parties divide among themselves for their own purposes, without clear criteria or any requirement to allocate them equally.
These funds are added to the state budget. Last night (March 10, 2026), the government decided to allocate coalition funds totaling 4.995 billion shekels, 75 percent of which are designated for the ultra-Orthodox and religious-nationalist sectors.
Of the coalition funds, 395.5 million shekels are allocated to the Settlement Ministry, led by Minister Orit Strock.
This ministry primarily funds groups and projects supporting right-wing causes, settlements, and Orthodox Judaism.
Additionally, the government plans to allocate another 1.273 billion shekels to the Settlement Ministry in the regular 2026 budget.

The coalition funds also include 316 million shekels clearly designated for settlements, in addition to millions of shekels allocated to right-wing organizations engaged in education and settlement initiatives.

Coalition Budget Items for Settlements:

Item Amount (NIS)
Security grants to local authorities in the West Bank 87,000,000
Projects in the Western Wall tunnels 12,000,000
The Settlement Division 100,242,000
Security components for “Young Settlement” 50,000,000
Assistance to local authorities in securing Area C 45,000,000
Archaeology in the West Bank 11,486,000
Transportation in the West Bank for education 8,000,000
Patriarchs’ Tomb — support for the Cave of the Patriarchs 2,193,000
Total 315,921,000

50 Million Shekels for Violent Farms and Outposts
The coalition funds include an allocation of 50 million shekels for “security components for young settlement.” This budget line is intended to support the establishment of illegal farms and outposts in the West Bank.

Over the past two years, the government has used it to finance the violent farms — including off-road vehicles, road construction, electric gates, solar panels, and other infrastructure for settlers living there. Using these funds, settlers have systematically driven thousands of Palestinians from their homes and lands and taken control of roughly one million dunams (about 18 percent of the West Bank).
