As reported in the Israeli media this week, 40 prominent Israelis have drafted a new peace plan they hope to use as a platform to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to renew deadlocked talks with the Palestinians. Among the backers are dovish former political leaders as well as former heads of the Mossad, Shin Bet and Israeli military.<\/p>\n
Peace Now hails the public figures that have joined the public battle against the current government.<\/p>\n
It is clear that as time passes more and more Israelis are realizing that we need to immediately return to a real political process with the Palestinians, and begin to make brave and dramatic steps.<\/p>\n
