According to an update submitted to the court today, 10\/11\/11, by the State Attorney, the Givat Assaf outpost will be evicted by July 1st, 2012 and \u00a0the eviction of Amona by the end of December 2012. <a href=\"http:\/\/peacenow.org.il\/en\/at-least-70-outposts-are-located-on-private-palestinian-land\/\">Earlier this year<\/a>, on March 2011, the government has <a href=\"http:\/\/peacenow.org.il\/en\/following-our-legal-project-work-the-pm-is-forced-to-commit-to-remove-outposts\/\">declared to the court<\/a> that the evictions will take place by the end of year 2011.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In recent weeks the settlers launched a campaign in order to pressure the government not to remove the outposts. The pressure resulted in <a href=\"http:\/\/peacenow.org.il\/en\/the-government-announces-the-intention-to-legalize-outposts\/\">a promise<\/a> by PM Netanyahu to set up a task force to explore ways to legalize houses in settlements that were built on private Palestinian lands. However, the Attorney General, Yehuda Weinstein, ruled that the committee will not be able to discuss houses on which there is already a court hearings, but only on future demolitions that are not yet discussed in courts. As a result, Netanyahu sought the way out through another postponement of the deadline for the eviction.
