On the day after the elections, Wednesday 18 March 2015, far from the public eye, Elad Association settlers entered three new settlement sites<\/a> in Silwan. The new settlements significantly increase settler presence in the Wadi Hilweh area of Silwan. Last September, the settlers entered six other properties<\/a>\u00a0in Wadi Hilweh in Silwan, on the eve of Prime Minister Netanyahu\u2019s meeting with President Obama, raising extreme American criticism against Israel.<\/p>\n

Palestinian Faraj family compound near the settlers\u2019 visitors\u2019 center<\/strong> \u2013 The settlers managed to purchase three of the four apartments in the compound from the owner.\u00a0 The fourth apartment is populated by a Palestinian family which, by order of the court, was recognized a protected tenant.
\nThe seller\u2019s wife and children refused to vacate the house.\u00a0 In the morning, they were summoned to a police investigation regarding a complaint filed by the wife and while they were at the police station, the settlers entered the house accompanied by police officers.<\/p>\n

The settlers obtained all of these houses by acquisition from the Palestinian owners.\u00a0 In some instances, the issue was addressed in court, which ruled that the property is owned by the settlers.\u00a0 It is important to note that, in April 2006, one day after the elections then, Elad settlers entered a structure that they purchased in A-Tur (\u201cBeit HaChoshen\u201d).\u00a0 Then too, the action was taken on a day when public attention was averted to the results of the elections.<\/p>\n
