Peace Now Applauds Israeli Actor’s Refusal to Perform in Jewish Settlement in Hebron

Actor Rami Baruch, who plays the role of Jonathan Pollard in the Cameri Theater production “Pollard’s Trial”, has refused to perform at the new cultural center in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Araba.

Rami said: “Kiryat Arba is where (the extremist murderers) Baruch Goldstein and Kahane came from, and I asked myself what is my place in this whole story?”.

Despite heavy criticism and pressure from right wing groups Rami Baruch seems to be upholding his position and  Peace Now welcomed his decision.

Peace Now Director General Yariv Oppenheimer:

“Kiryat Arba is a symbol of racism. Artists and performers have no business there”.
